How can you keep mice and bugs out of your self-storage unit? Picking a storage unit that uses a pest control company helps immensely. Never store food or wet items, do not store any items with a strong smell as this can attract rodents. Keep your unit dry and your items off the floor, store bins on top of pallets if you can. Visit your unit often and inspect your items, this will help you detect earlier on. Do not eat inside of your unit. Wrap your exposed cloth furniture such as beds, couches, etc., in plastic wrap to avoid moths. Using Mothballs when storing lots of “material” can help as well.
